There are two Seamen Centers in Pascagoula, MS dedicated to Sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the world through service to the merchant seamen who visit our ports.
The Pascagoula Seamen Centers have been active for over 25 years and have survived several hurricanes. We are sponsored by Jackson County Baptist Association (JCBA) of MS.
We receive funding and support from JCBA, the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board, the Jackson County Port Authority, The International Transportation Federation (ITF), Baptist Churches and other State Mission Boards, as well as donations from companies in the maritime industry and individuals.
Both centers are within easy walking distance for seamen on ships at the Jackson County terminals. We offer transportation from the Seamen Center to shopping centers daily between 6 pm and 9 pm and to local churches on Sunday. For seamen at other terminals, transportation will be provided at no cost to the seafarers.
In the centers there are phones and phone cards available. We also have internet facilities. Table games, board games, TV, and reading materials are available. We offer a selection of spiritual material and videos in many languages. We also offer refreshments at no cost to the seamen.
Our friendly volunteers are dedicated to serving the seamen. We want the seamen to feel like the Pascagoula center is their home away from home.
God has blessed us by meeting our needs so we in turn may meet the needs of the seafarers.
